“Okay… but how do I actually prepare for something like this?”

Totally normal. And the good news? You don’t have to guess.

After photographing many women, I know exactly what helps you walk into my studio feeling calm, confident, and ready to own every second of your shoot.

This guide will walk you through what to wear, how to prep, what to expect, and how to get into the right mindset so you know how to prepare for your dark glamour portrait session in Orlando and can get the most out of your Rock Your Rebellion experience.

🌙 What to Wear for Your Dark Glamour Session

Dark glamour is dramatic, cinematic, bold - and the wardrobe plays a massive role in bringing that energy to life.

1. Gowns That Photograph Like Magic

Flowy fabrics, fitted bodices, dramatic sleeves, velvet, lace, sheer overlays... they all create shape and movement in front of the camera. If you’re unsure what to wear, don’t stress. My client closet is fully stocked with gowns in blacks, jewel tones, and rich textures that were hand-selected to flatter real women.

2. Colors That Amplify the Mood

Dark glamour loves:

  • Black

  • Royal blue

  • Deep purples

  • Burgundy

  • Emerald

  • Silver or gold accents

These tones photograph beautifully on every skin tone, especially under dramatic lighting.

3. Handmade Crowns & Accessories

One of the most defining parts of a Rock Your Rebellion session? My handmade crowns, each handcrafted by me - your photographer. Each piece is designed specifically for this style of portraiture - goth, goddess, empress, dark romantic - and adds instant visual impact.

4. What to Bring From Home

  • A bodysuit or waist cincher pair beautifully with our gowns. Or, you can opt for lingerie if you want add touch of boudoir to your session.

  • Optional shapewear

  • Any statement jewelry that feels meaningful

  • A favorite pair or two of heels (but bare feet are totally appropriate here!)

But again… you don’t need much. I’ve curated everything with you in mind.

💄 Hair & Makeup: What to Expect

Professional hair and makeup are included with every session - not to change you, but to enhance your natural features under dramatic studio lighting.

Before your session:

  • Arrive with clean, moisturized skin

  • Avoid spray tans (they don’t photograph well)

  • Bring any inspiration photos you love

  • Drink plenty of water and rest if you can

My artists are phenomenal at creating that soft-glam or dark-glam look that matches the aesthetic while still looking like you.

🧘‍♀️ Mindset Tips to Feel Confident and Camera-Ready

Listen, almost every woman who walks into my studio is nervous for the first five minutes. You’re normal.

Here’s what helps:

1. Let yourself be a little extra

This isn’t a corporate headshot. This is a creative, cinematic, alternative portrait experience. The more you lean into the fantasy, the more powerful the images become.

2. Trust the process

You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to know what to do with your hands. You don’t need modeling experience.

You just need to show up. I’ll guide you through every movement, angle, and expression.

3. Embrace the version of yourself you rarely get to see

Women especially have this moment where they look at the back of my camera and say:

“Holy crap. That’s me?” Yes. It’s you. And you deserve to see yourself like that.

🎯 What to Expect on Session Day

A Rock Your Rebellion session flows intentionally, so you can relax and enjoy it:

  1. Professional hair & makeup

  2. Wardrobe + gown selection

  3. Crown styling

  4. Studio lighting setup

  5. Guided posing from start to finish

  6. Breaks, laughter, music, and collaboration

  7. A preview of the magic on the back of my camera

My signature lighting style (dramatic, moody, sculpting) is designed to flatter real women. This is about showing dimension, mood, and strength… not hiding you or retouching you into someone else.

📸 After the Shoot: What Happens Next

Once your session ends, we’ll schedule your image reveal to choose your favorites for your album and Collection you've selected.

My editing style is natural, artistic, and true-to-you. I don’t over-edit with reshaping bodies, heavy smoothing of your face, or removing the things that make you you. I do enhance the lighting, shadows, tones, and mood that give dark glamour portraits their unmistakable style.

⚡ If You’ve Been Feeling That Nudge… This Is Your Sign

If you’ve been craving something creative… something empowering… something that lets you see yourself differently, you’re in the right place.

Your age doesn’t matter. Your experience doesn’t matter. Your insecurities don’t disqualify you.

You’re exactly the kind of woman I built this studio for.
